Are you sure you installed the 64-bit GPU drivers and a 64 bit OpenCL? IntelOpenCL32 is not going to work. uninstall it and install the 64bit version from NVidia or from Chronos.

Guys...... I know how to use a computer.... Yes, I installed 64-bit drivers from NVIDIA. As someone else mentioned on this thread, NVIDIA doesn't even make 32-bit drivers anymore.


In fact, NVIDIA just released a new driver version today, just in time for the release of Mortal Kombat 11. Just for fun, I went ahead and downloaded the new driver, version 430.39, and performed a "clean install" on the installer. No luck.... OpenCL is still not installed.

Did you try the Windows registry change?

I've installed the drivers you were using prior to your latest update and had no problems ... the opencl files were installed properly.

This is sounding more & more like a permissions issue where something has been done to stop files being created in the Windows folder ... I have seen some security software that have that setting ... even Windows Security has a Controlled Folder Access setting which is Off on my setups.

Check the Security tab under Internet Options and ensure it is not set higher than Medium-high.

If either of the above settings are the culprit you can always turn them off while you reinstall the nvidia drivers and if you really need them turned on do so after the drivers are installed.

Another possibility is malware ... try running Housecall ( https://www.trendmicro.com/en_ca/forHom ... ecall.html )

If you don't run Malwarebytes ( https://www.malwarebytes.com/ ) I urge you to do so. I use the free version on my systems and it works well.

This may not be the solution but I too am running out of ideas ... you obviously have installed the correct drivers but something is stopping their complete installation.

Guys, I work in IT and I support over 5000 desktops. You don't need to ask me if I'm running 64-bit Windows lol

My only AV is Windows Defender in W10 version 1809. When I tried installing those drivers yesterday, I disabled Real Time Protection. No luck.

I've never had a virus problem. I use MalwareBytes for the occasional scan here and there, and I've never had anything.

Yesterday when installing the new drivers, I also tried running Guru3D's Display Driver Uninstaller. I booted into Safe Mode and ran the utility as an admin. After completely deleting all drivers and files related to my GPU and reinstalling the driver, I still don't have OpenCL checked on GPU-Z.

1) How old is the card? Can you RMA it under warranty? It seems obvious that the driver won't load OpenCL for a reason.
2) What else is this PC used for, can you do a fresh install of Win 10? (I find it easy to just buy a SSD with Win 10 installed and call it good. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-2-5-12 ... ctupt=true )

1) According to my EVGA profile, I have 76 days left in my warranty. But I don't think this is an issue with my card........


2) Good idea. I have a spare crappy WD Green drive from my mini-server PC that I could plug in, install W10 64-bit, and try installing the drivers again on..... I'll report back.

Unlike you most of us could not be considered Windows or nvidia professional support. We are just volunteers with varying levels of knowledge who try to support other volunteers with folding@home related problems.

Since folding@home has nothing to do with the cause of your problem I suggest you go to a Windows 10 forum or an nvidia forum. I'm sure they will be more likely to figure out which of your security settings is causing your inability to install files in your Windows folder. Perhaps your IT team at work might even know why/how/what has been locked down???

So here's the result with the new drive.....


So I installed the crappy 2TB WD drive onto my PC, installed a fresh copy of W10, then installed my GPU's drivers.... Guess what? OpenCL installed perfectly fine and so did F@H.......


Obviously there's a problem with my current configuration, but I have no idea what it might be. I am not reinstalling Windows just to get F@H going, so I hope there's another solution.

OK, that clarifies a lot!
Your card is OK, no need for an RMA. Your driver is the correct one, no sense in re installing it until the OS is fixed. Your OS installation is broken, not your F@H. (GPU-Z is unrelaated to F@H) Sadly this will not be the expertise usually needed here.

I would re read the folks trying help you to remove all other flavors of OpenCL except Nvidia's. That is the only solution not eliminated, that is not voodoo.

But I did that, tho... There's no way to "delete" OpenCL other than deleting the .DLL files and registry entries, which I'm pretty sure I've deleted everything possible up to this point.

In my career, I found utilities to fix the network stack in Windows and to uninstall drivers. I have not found a fix for OpenCL, in part because I have not looked, let me google:

I don't have that .dll on any of my systems, so all I can do is ask the "experts" at the Intel OpenCl support site.

No response in the first 12 hrs.

As for OpenCL-Z, it doesn't open either. Yes, I tried running as an admin and compatibility mode. Unlike GPU Caps Viewer, though, it shows a splash screen with the NVIDIA logo, but after a few seconds it disappears entirely.
