Error getting first install going Win 7

[ACCR]

Errors are occurring that cause the yellow rather than the green Ready "light" to show in my Windows 7 Advanced Client Control window. It never appears to connect and start Folding. Folding Slots show as Ready and Work Que shows as downloading with progress as 0...

Any comments or suggestions from anyone??

Something (proxy, firewall, security software, ...) between you and the FAH servers is interfering with your connection. How do connect to the Internet ?

FAHClient needs to connect to the internet with the same security settings used by browsers. Traditional browsers are recognized by default but you'll probably have to enable a firewall exception for FAHClient.

What ports do I need to add as exceptions to my router?? Is the FAHClient using port 80??

FAHClient is using port 8080 by preference and falls back to using port 80. The client uses http for transfers just like a web browser.

Based on it using port 80 as a fallback, it should work, yet it doesn't.... Web browsers work just fine.

Did you disable your firewall to test if it helps ?

Some firewall/proxies don't like software that attempt connections directly to IP instead of using DNS.

I've just had the same issue on Windows 10, I've just added exceptions to the Windows firewall for the program FAHClient. Instantly resolved the issue, that's probably all you need to do in your sonic firewall.
