Advanced client unable to maintain connection

When using the advanced client to update advanced settings, it can never maintain a connection for more than a second. It goes "Connecting" "Updating" "Connected" 1 second later, "Connecting"
I can never get anything changed before it goes back to "connecting"

Which OS are you using, and does the same thing happen using the Web Control?

I am on Windows 10. I don't have the same issue with web control.
