Low performance using CUDA on 1070ti

Post by SNK »

Hi guys.
I started folding recently and have ~100k PPD on my Geforce1070 Ti which seems to me really low (comparing to /viewtopic.php?f=38&t=31426)
I am unsure whether it is Nvidia driver problems but it seems that my GPU is detected properly see log:

It seems that there is ~44% usage in Windows task manager.
My GPU is plugged in PCIe x8 3.0 could that be issue for such low score?

Using Task Manager you need to change one of the performance windows under GPU to see the F@h utilization. Click on the down arrow and change the type to CUDA or if that is not an available option, one of the Compute options. You might need to try more than one of the Compute 0,1,2 options. The utilization should be in the 90+% range.

As for the PPD you are seeing, do you have a passkey set in the client? That will make a big difference as the bonus points are based on how quick a WU is returned. Your 1070ti is much faster than a 1050 for example.

To see GPU utilization I prefer GPU-Z's sensor screen

My 1070Ti, when it's folding, gets around 700K PPD with the QRB. That's in a x8 PCIe 3.0 slot, so that isn't an issue.

Thanks for answers.
New suggested resource monitor methods seems fine (Utilization is ~98% in GPU-Z)
I didn't know that passkey can have such big impact. I don't have passkey as I didn't receive it when I asked for it (I tried several times and also different e-mail addresses)
EDIT:
I just found on forum that currently you have problems with high load on PassKeys retrieval. That makes sense. Will wait and try again later.

Just to let you know I now get ~850k PPD with QRB after registration. So it seems that was the issue. Thanks.
