If you don't have to urgently replace your old GPU, my suggestion is to wait. Nvidia might be announcing/releasing their next generation GPU next month. That could mean drop in prices for the "older" generation, and maybe AMD drops their prices too to be competitive. Thus, depending on your budget, you can get a pretty nice folding GPU. Please keep in mind that your use-case comes first, i.e. what's the primary use for the GPU. If it is gaming, rendering, etc. get the GPU that fits your needs and then secondary would be F@H. Of course, if you're buying a GPU that's going to be dedicated to folding, that's cool to. Here's a recent list of PPD from various GPUs to give you an idea: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... GPL0CdLkg/

Hi PantherX,
As my GPU is not compatible, I will get a new one when I can work out which one to get.
in the mean time i have updated the drivers?
I removed the GPU slot from FAH then updated my video driver the reinstalled the GPU slot.
No the updated driver did nothing and caused more HHTP_NOT_FOUND'S so I have now again removed the GPU slot.
I have removed all Firewalls. and , then run it 1st with Microsoft firewall, then swapped over to Winparol firewall. I don't think either causes any problem individually. I will run it with both over night.

Its been suggested to me that I upgrade to the GeForce 1030 GT or GTX - 1060 - 1070 or 1080.

Steve

Yes read your reply, i will be waiting....... Ill update to the New version of FAH once ive trialled the firewalls

Please note that while you can update your drivers, it may be beneficial for other applications that you may run on your system. For F@H, since it is a hardware limitation, updating drivers won't matter.

When it comes to HTTP_NOT_FOUND error, may I suggest that you work through this topic as it has some guidance and starting points: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=17794

I believe that those are all Pascal GPUs which are the predecessor of Turing GPUs. The next architecture to be released is Ampere from Nvidia. Going from historical data, any GPU selected from those GPU family would be supported for a long since F@H is still supporting Fermi 2.0 released in 2010/2011/2012. It comes down to your budget, your primary use and compatibility with your existing system.

Hi PantherX,
This has been a steep learning curve, and all the help that has been given and especially from yourself.
Yes I will be waiting for next month to see what price reductions come. I am actively researching the different models to see which ones I can use in the Motherboard I have.
Yes I will read the topics on HTTP_NOT_FOUND.
I can update you on my testing so far
1st by removing the GPU slot, on the Configure, Slots tab and only leaving the CPU Slot...the HTTP_NOT_FOUND error disappeared.
then by adding it back in, they reappeared.
So I have now removed the GPU Slot for good.
I am at present running the FAH Control in 6 hour slots, with one firewall, then the other, each separately, then over night with both to see if it causes any problems.
Tomorrow at some stage i will save all the log files and other data, uninstall 7.5.1 and install 7.6.9 and making sure the GPU is removed, the I will test again with the firewalls to see if they cause any problems.
Slowly slowly i will get there.
I wont be updating here on every step - Unless you would like me to.
I will how ever start a new thread should I encounter some other problems.
Thanks for everyone's help

Nwe user here, about a month. I am having the same issue here. F@H web control shows CPU and GPU running and WU's processing but F@H advanced control reports "On client "local" 127.0.0.1:36330: Access denied, invalid password" and I can't control how many cores I wish to use for my CPU. All was running fine since this PC runs 24/7 and only gets hot reboots occasionally. A T-Storm warning prompted a stut down and pulled the plug overnight. Since then "Advanced Control" is done. The only passwords I remember creating were the one for this forum and the passkey in a e-mail on initial setup, both of which are saved and have been tried. HELP !!! Microsoft Windows 10 Professional (x64) Build 18363.836 (1909/November 2019 Update)

Welcome to the F@H Forum VelocityRC,

The easiest method would be from Web Control, click on "Stop Folding" and when the pop-up box appears, select "Finish, then stop" After folding is finished, ensure that you have the username/passkey/team details in clear text and then uninstall the client (tick the option to delete the data). Download the latest version, V7.6.13 and then perform a fresh installation.

From what I have read, there seems to be an issue when upgrading the client but a fresh installation works fine.

Thanks PantherX. I've read through the thread before posting. I'll give that a go but the only version I have ever ran is V7.6.13, I just verified the version. Seems as though others are experiencing this when updates occur. I'll post back with the results.

Don't know where the right place is to suggest this as a feature...but is there any reason that there can't be a third option as to when folding occurs.

Currently there is:

When I'm Working
When I'm Idle

Why not a "Both" option?

I believe When I'm Working is "Both" ... Maybe it should say "even when working" and "only when Idle"

Thanks Neil-B. Just added 12 more cores to the research, and spread the word to all my IT buddies. I'm expecting to get more people added to help out!
