Not 'today' today but close -> http://code.google.com/p/cftunity/downl ... p&can=2&q=

At least it parses accurately ( and I added some more graphs and statistics :) ).

Posted an update, link in first post.

Just found out it still had an error when displaying the signature image when an eoc update is recieved but the error is handled and shouldn't be a big problem. The rest should work :)

As notes say, I was in the middle of rewriting the graphs but having changed so much in regards to the other code ( especially async delegates implementations ) it's maybe even wiser to put this out now ;)

Let me know how it works out.

looks good initially. From my Win 7 laptop, it allowed me to manually connect to one of my two remote clients - my old HP XP desktop. For some reason, it didn't find my old Toshiba laptop (XP). I like the graphs and the filters.

Still got things to do before adding new features. Replacing all form code with showwindow api and adding more delegate for cross threading and fixing the cuda reporting to start with. ProjectInfo browser glitches when using the up/down keys to go through the listitems, but I'll replace the points calculator ( which is stealing focus when using those keys ) with a seperate form which graphs expected ppd as well. Also, I am wondering how much quicker the sorting will be if I replace the listview with a datatable..

GreyWiskers, the network connection is the same as the operating systems, if you can browse to your other computer using explorer you can find it in the 'add clients' form :!: There is no magic going on, it's not using any other method to access the network ;)

Edit: I know you're not making it up so I did some looking around. It's xp sp3 right? How did you configure the shared folder and where is it located on the computer itself?
Can you access the shared folder from the account you're using at all ( without providing login information! )?

If you're then I think we found the problem. This feature prohibits sharing the appdata location as I read it.

Disable 'easy file sharing', make a simple network share and it will work. Share only needs reading rights set up.

Edit2: Off course it might be 'easier' to reinstall the client choosing a location outside of the user folder?

Last two versions had threading issues and problems with window activation which should now be fixed. The log will always open ontop of all other forms, windows which were active will be restored when child windows are closed.

The project information browser no longer moves focus to the tpf/ppd calculator when using the arrow keys to go up or down in the list of projects.

The 'Clients' filter menu is clickable, though I should either replace that with an 'All' selection on top of the slots, or I should call menu.close ( the menu stays open while the query takes place ).

I replaced the cpuID description to SMP in case of an smp slot so the filter will work. It should pick up the correct type from the active units but it didn't ( not that important right now, active monitoring is coming later ). I want to differentiate between changes in smp:x, but since that's not working a default smp search seems a good alternative.

I HIGHLY recommend updating :!:

Edit: updated again -> FAHWatch7 0.1.0.4

Is there a way to update without having to uninstall the app first? The msi package refuses to work on an existing install, and the .exe wants to install VC++2010, which quits upon noticing a newer version on my computer.
Please resolve the following:

A newer version of Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable has been detected on the machine.

@MtM. Thanks for the info on the networks. I think my problem was that the Wireless-N adapter on the laptop was having problems and not connecting to the net. I ended up rebooting the router, and reverting to the laptop's built-in wireless-G adapter. Seems to be ok at the moment.

Anyway, after I got the network on the old WinXP Toshiba laptop running, I saw you had a new version fahwatch7.0.1.0.4 as of a few minutes ago. I downloaded onto the Toshiba, and got the errors below.

I haven't checked the new Win7 laptop yet - see if it can now connect with your version 48 (?) from the other day. I think I will hold off a bit before loading fahwatch7.0.1.0.4.

A couple of comments on the prior version from my new Win 7 laptop. Don't take these comments badly. Your system is great, and I hope some of these suggestions can make it even better. Thanks for all your hard work.

- I have it connected to the local client (2 slots - SMP and GPU), and one remote client (Old HP desktop with one uniprocessor and one GPU). Every few minutes I get 4 what seem like persistent popups one at a time that stay on the screen for maybe 5 seconds. I can't just click on another window to put these popups in the background. It would be good if you either made the popups optional, or didn't have them at all. I think it is pretty annoying.

- re: the filters. We had some interaction a few weeks ago - and found that the filters were unique, and not nesting. I would recommend some more flexibility in them, though. I finally was able to see both my new Sager laptop which runs SMP-8 WUs, the old HP running uniprocessor WUs. There is a block of core a4 projects that I've had assigned to the SMP and the Uniprocessor both. When I filter on Project, I see both the SMP and Uniprocessor WUs, and get overall statistics. I can at one glance see that the Uniprocessor gets, say 150 ppd, and on the same project, the Sager SMP-8 gets 18,000 ppd. But, the overall stats lumps them together. I can't seem to see one of the filters that will let me choose a project AND a client to see just that set.

Quick update. After fiddling with the network adapters on the the old Toshiba, I found I could add the third instance. So, now FAHWatch is looking at all 3 of my v7 computers - a total of 5 folding slots.

And, with a third computer it's looking at, I think there is a third pair of popups.

Thanks. GW.

The pop ups are error messages, disabling them would make it easier for you to ignore them and not report them to me. If you're getting them back to back, please run with the debug shortcut and send me the fahwatch7 log file.

But, the first error in your screenshot I already fixed ( not in the cleanest way but it works ;) ). The second error I have to check. The dll's don't have the most verbose log output, and the debug flag is not used by them.

Back to the popups, as I said they are there to make sure I get reports of errors ( eg they are meant to be incentives to post the logs, or better yet if one can replicate the error by doing certain stuff then quit, restart with debug shortcut and then show me the log :!: ). But, I can look at the option to dismiss certain messages based on their origin and contained error so that after and error has been reported you can opt to not get popups for them.

Also, the icon in your tray can be removed by double clicking on the logfile content at which it will ask to 'clear the warning?'. If you don't clear the warning, if you minimize or try to close the log it will go back to the tray with its warning icon. Also, if you're getting lots of messages in a row, don't clear the warning as a new error will play the application error sound ( and hearing that to often is really annoying ).

The lumping together, true in the list of projects. But the project statistics should at the least show the avg ppd and avg tpf of a project of both clients since they run on different hardware ->
Image

It does not show the number of completed vs failed ( giving success % ) per hardware, I'll add that. *Note that it differentiates due to slot type, so if you have multiple smp:x rigs their are combined, and multiple uniprocessors will also still be lumped together.

The other solution is to use the 'edit filters' form. Add a filter for

Code: Select all

WHERE Client = 'xxxxxxx' AND Project = 'yyyyyy'
and a filter for

Code: Select all

WHERE Client = 'zzzzzzz' AND Project = 'yyyyyy'
Where yyyy is your project number and x and z are your client names.

I should really put that dialog to work I showed in the other thread to help set up different filters.

Image
Image
Image

Or I should just use a filter maker using combo boxes with logical operators and field names, and maybe try to put the possible values in a autocomplete collection. Which is basically the same as above but without the need to go through different panels so some might find that easier.

Or I could go back to stacking selections.

Right now I'm working on the delegate factory in combination with a new application context, which will allow me better control over which form should receive messages.

Edit:

This is why that 'active' form tracking is of importance ;)
Image

and this is why I need to fix the current code :(

How did you configure the automated log parser? Should it parse on interval? What interval? The lowest automatic parsing interval should be one hour. Unless the parser itself fails, at which time the loop could occur ( I would like the log files of a session started with -debug if that's the case ). I just seem to be unable to replicate this, the parser run's and my interval is set to the correct timespan.

I did just change the syntax of the datetime comparison, maybe there is a problem and it was not really clear to me.

Edit: I found some problems and think I fixed them for the next build. This could have caused the parsing to happen as described.

Fixing all the current issues has stopped me from doing the new graph container

Here's the popup. It's not a warning, just a normal status message. As I said before, it stays on top until it is finished - several seconds. And, there are multiple notifications that come back to back. And the popup shows up regardless of what I'm doing. this picture shows the FAHWatch image, but it occurs when I'm in the word processor, browser, etc.

Also, my config notification page. I can't remember if I changed any of the defaults. But, here is what I have.

New version up which should fix a lot of ( sometimes critical ) problems, links to installer and zip archive in first post.

@GW

Now I know what you mean ;) Two things, that message should have only showed up once every 3 hours so that's a problem. Good news is that I think I fixed that one. The other good news is that it won't happen anyway as the update messages are no longer using that window but are display in the statusstrip at the bottom of the form, and then only if the form is visible.
