Studying Endometriosis on Folding@Home

Please confine these topics to things that would be of general interest to those who are interested in FAH which don't fall into any other category.

Studying Endometriosis on Folding@Home

Post by bigbadwuf »

Has Folding@Home considered creating projects to study Endometriosis?
  • Could existing immune-system related Folding@Home projects be used as the basis of "Endo" research ?
  • Several attributes of "Endo" appear to be correlatable to existing FAH research.
This post is based on unanswered reddit post Endometriosis Study Proposal.

Perhaps researchers outside of the FAH community can attempt to answer why this causes such a conundrum. There are only three possible answers:

  • 1. "It maybe possible, we'll look into it and let you know."
    2. "Endometriosis has multi-factorial symptoms which do not make it a good candidate for a Folding@Home project at ANY stage of the disease."
    3. "There simply aren't enough funds to do a full analysis of the requirements of such a study. Sorry, maybe sometime in the future, but right now it's just not a priority."
I've put weeks of time and effort into formulating these questions as concisely as possible. It would be great to get them answered by an expert.
