Hello folders,
I currently folding with one MacBook Pro C2D@2.33GHz and Dell 2xXeon Hyperthreaded, and planing to get Ati HD3850 AGP for the Dell.
Give one of the Xeons to feed the Ati and the spare Xeon will run regular Uni Win FAH.
My question is - Is there a integer intensive(ALU) only distributed computing project (I was thinking of PrimeGrid on BOINC platform or GIMPS)?
My plan is to run such project and make use of Hyperthreading and ALU units on the two Xeons, as FAH need them little or none at all. (Prime numbers are important - and I'm mathematician )
You suggestions are welcome.
Thanks
Integer intensive(ALU) distributed computing project?

Re: Integer intensive(ALU) distributed computing project?
There are lists of DC projects such as
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_di ... g_projects and http://distributedcomputing.info/projects.html
and since you're a mathematician, you can probably deduce which ones are primarily FP and which are primarily Integer.
My hunch is that the FAH GPU core is primarily integer with all the FP work being done by the GPU but I don't know of anybody who reported the results of profiling the code.
