The requirement to register is to prevent cheating on the polls and to prevent spam in the shoutbox... we feel it is a necessary evil, but a shame. Sorry!

You can moderate shoutbox, put up filters and time out's though I admit it will not always work it mostly would.

I don't mind registering, but I think it will discourage some people who don't feel like signing up to yet another site I think you know what I mean. But it's your call and I can understand the reasons why one would choose to have this in place.

I went to the English site and tried to register.

I was presented with this:
Registration Agreement Terms
Vous vous apprêtez à vous enregistrer sur le site. Nous vous demandons d'être poli et courtois dans vos interventions.

Merci, l'équipe du site.
What does it say? :?

The English site should be in English!

No idea how we missed that

"You are about to register on the site. We ask that you be polite and courteous in your posts.

Thanks, the site team."

And I shall see about getting that changed now ;)

EDIT: or not... I don't have permission to do it :S welcome to the confusing world of being an administrator. It will be fixed tomorrow

Couldn't resist, I passed the French through Google and got this:
"You get ready to record yourself on the site. We ask you to be polished and courteous in your interventions.

Thank you, the team of the site."

Gotta love Google Translations.

Um, tried to visit the English version, had already registered on the original.. English version says no member with that name???
Do I need to set up an account in each language?? Can I not switch from one to the other? Or just some teething problems.
Pseudo is same as here..
Good work though, have been enjoying the site in French also keeps me in practice, was able to have a reasonably complex discussion on gpu's /cpus/alimentation with the sales guys on the rue Montgallet yesterday  Merci FAH-Addict!

Due to the content management system we use the two sites are in fact completely seperate... it does not play nicely with two language versions under one login so you would need to register individually for each version.

We also assume that *most* readers from one version won't read the other version ... but there's might be some exceptions ;)

And those who don't want to register on FAH-Addict can still post their opinion in the actual thread ;)

Warning, error found in article optimisations.

Original text:

Code: Select all

NV_FAH_CPU_AFFINITY is used to set the affinity of the core. It is not normally set up, unless you have trouble with program conflicts (performance degraded by sharing a CPU core with another program). Acceptable values are 0 to 15 (numerical values) ... this is actually a binary mask such that each bit represents a CPU: CPU3, CPU2, CPU1, CPU0. A value of 1 allows access to the CPU in question, and a value of 0 prohibits access. A numeric value 0 is the default: it allows access to all cores, letting Windows manage affinities, or it locks all the cores on the latest CPU, the following option enabled in the advanced settings of the client. If you use this variable in a custom configuration, it is recommended to enable the client option "do not lock cores to specific CPU" in the configuration.
I think this is auto translated,
A numeric value 0 is the default: it allows access to all cores, letting Windows manage affinities, or it locks all the cores on the latest CPU, the following option enabled in the advanced settings of the client.
It's also wrong ( if I understand the entire sentence correctly ).

First off all, the gpu client with locked affinities using built in options do not all use core3 on a quad, the first gpu client uses core3, the second core2 and I imagine this goes on like core1, core0, core3, core2 ect.

It's dynamic, not staticly bound to the last core.

This is something I always had trouble to understand ... I don't know exactly what 0 does for this value (I think it's full access to all cores like a value of 15 ... but I'm not 100% positive).

P.S : there's might still be some missing translations (I just found one, even if I don't know when it is displayed  ) ... so please report them if you catch one.

P.P.S : error report by ChelseaOilman is no yet fixed ... by we're working on it ;) (where is this f****** variable ? )
edit : it was right behind our eyes, so we didn't see it  ... it should be fixed now :)
