i dont usally run folding because my computer is 700mhz and takes alot cpu power and i can feel it running.

however iam going on holidays very very this weekend. iam going to be back let next year 28th jan 2008. i would be glad to run folding@home during that time but i've tried been having some problems trying to get FAH to run for the whole time without an internet connection.

it would not be possiable to maintain and internet connection to my computer during the time. so is it possiable to pile up on work units or get work unit large enough to work for the hole time.

i've tried putting work units larger than 5mbs but it does't run for the whole time. and does't uterlize my cpu to its fullest it floats arounds 30% useage and uses a whole lot of memory.

and i have't played around with the deadline settings yet because i dont know what it is
thanks in advanced to any help

There's no way to cache WU in Folding@Home :( ... I think you'd rather stop your machine and save power and money during this time ... ;)

I'm still running FAH on a 1.2 GHz laptop. It often is assigned WUs that take several weeks (or more) to finish. Your machine is about half that fast so they should take twice as long, but it will depend on luck which project you're assigned and when the current one finishes.

Are you sure you can finish more than one WU during that period?

If you get a p1487, your machine will be busy for a long time (18 days on a P4-m 1.4 GHz or 14 days on an Athlon XP 2000+).

I wasnt going to mention that particular project, toTOW.

But yes if he gets that, it may still be processing when he gets back off holiday.

I mentioned it because it's the longest I've ever seen ;)
