Issues in the install guide

Post by DigtalGalaxy »

Hey there, I was having some issue downloading the software off the main page, so I went to the Linux install Guide, and found these lines: (Had to modify the lines to avoid the forum regex about no posting links).

wget --no-check-certificate (no forum links)
wget --no-check-certificate (no forum links)
wget --no-check-certificate (no forums links)

Which, when copy-pasted into a terminal, give a 404.

I was about to give up on it,thinking these were stale links, then I realized they all had a "..." in the path. Copy-pasting in the full file path was just fine, and downloaded the file.

Who do I speak to to get the install guide updated and fixed, so no one else has this issue?

Thank you!

Due to the limited width of the web page, and the long URL length, what kind of fix would you suggest?

Also curious what issue you had with the main download page?

How about bit.ly links for the long URLs?

Does this command work correctly when using a tiny url?

wget --no-check-certificate http://some_bit.ly.url
