Ever heared of Eobot? Get more out of your folding.

Post by 2N5R »

Guys,

yesterday I googled something related to FAH, but what I accidentally found is very nice.
Ever heared of Curecoins? That is a cryptocurrency (like Bitcoins) which you can earn with folding. All you have to do is contribute your Folding to team numer 224497. The signup here

https://www.cryptobullionpools.com/index

with your exact Folding Username. You will start to earn coins.

You can spend these coins in various ways, but you can also use them to purchase cloud computing power to fold even more. For doing that, sign up here:
https://www.eobot.com/new.aspx?referid=570037

Cashout your CureCoins to Eobot and use your CureCoins to purchase FAHCloud Computing. That link includes an affiliate link which gives me 1% of your Cure Coins spent for purchasing FAH Cloud Computing. I will use it for further cloud computing exclusively. Afaik the cloud computing happens under your Folding Name and gives you back a certain amount of CureCoins, which you can again use for cloud computing (but of course less than you spent).

If you like the idea, we could even think of an referral-chain here on the forum. If this post is unwandet, please delete. I am not having any personal advantage of this, I just want to let you know.

I like the idea of cloud folding but it seems expensive.
Cloud Folding Pricing: Current PPD price: $0.05
https://www.eobot.com/folding
For a gtx 1070 equivalent of 600k PPD this is $30 a day?

The paid out curecoin cannot refund that
Folding per day 1.0 PPD: 0.00012000 CURE
1 Cure = 0.038 dollar
1 PPD = 0.00012 cure * 0.038 dollar/cure = 0.00000456 dollar
For a gtx 1070 equivalent of 600k PPD this is 600000 * 0.00000456 dollar = 2.76 dollar per day

You are right. But what I mean is that you can earn CureCoins with the folding you do anyway, and spend those CureCoins (which you got "free") into CloudFolding. So it's more folding success for free.

The first part of earning curecoins is fine but the cloud folding thing seems too expensive.
I would better save the curecoins and spend for my own electricity bill.

Why is the cloud folding so expensive?
For 30$ a day you can cloud fold on my GPU ;-)

Sure. But how do you want to spend that for your Bill? Convert to butcoins and sell those?

Yes sell it!

I got email from eobot and I calculated the price wrong:
For 600k PPD you pay $30000 they say.

This is a scam.

And explains why there are only 5 mil PPD in this "cloud" and only 500k PPD used.

Yeah, scam...
Prior to selling (for dollars) converting to bitcoins? Or is there any way to sell CureCoins directly?

Yes, first exchange to bitcoins e.g. using poloniex.com and then sell for dollar e.g. using cex.io

If not scam, then definitly TOO EXPENSIVE, or how do call this if someone sells you 600k PPD for a year for $30000?
I can build a PC with GTX 1070 which makes 600k PPD for 600 dollar and electricity for a year costs the same amount at max.
Plus some place to put this rig in this is $1500 in total at max. What are they doing with the other 28500 dollar?

Straight mining curecoin with 40TH of ASICs doesn't even refund that

FWIW
Currently averaging 3.3M PPD.
Over 3 months:
Spent: ~$3835 on hardware.
Made: ~$1315 from folding incentives Curecoin and FLDC coin.
So I'm down ~$2520
If I ever break even I'll build another folding rig, which I hope will be in about 6 months.
Heat isn't much of an issue in winter as it goes to heat my house. Will be a bigger deal in summer.

Expensive hobby :-)

On the one hand, I shouldn't be promoting the coins, because everyone else folding for them just dilutes my share, but I feel that if they can get people folding more then it's worth promoting them to a wider audience - However, I suspect that this forum isn't the place.
As another reference point, my 3M PPD has ramped up to 8M PPD at no expense to myself thanks to coins and can now comfortably cover running costs. Please note: Past investment performance is no guarantee of future performance :)

One idea about the folding coins was to get the bitcoin miners, whose GPUs are now too slow for bitcoins, to use them for folding.
So even the folding eobot is a scam it is still promoting folding@home in the bitcoins community.

This thread has nothing to do on this forum : this is a support for FAH, and the following topics are not welcome here :

1) crytopcurrency talks should remain in their specific support forums
2) this forum is team agnostic, and team promotion is prohibited
3) advertisement for cloud computing is not welcome (and your referral code in the link to make personal profit is even worse than a simple link to the service).
