Contacting Folding@Home staff for Research Project?

Post by Kimba659 »

Hello Everyone,

I am a year 12 high-school student from South Australia and am currently taking part in a course called Research Project. Research Project is a course in which we pick our own topic of research and write an essay about what we have found. I have chosen to do research about distributed computing for scientific research, more specifically about Folding@Home.
Currently I am trying to find someone in staff (or someone else who is involved in the project in some way) who can answer a few questions for me. Does anyone know how I can find them?

Thanks in advance for your time

In your opinion, what are the main achievements of Folding@Home?

How has the Distributed Computing approach compared to using a supercomputer?

What have been the main difficulties or problems related to using a Distributed Computing approach (if any)?

Have there been any security issues with Folding@Home? If so, how were they solved?

Has Folding@Home achieved its aim?

p.s. I know this information can be found online but I need to complete some form of primary research.

Hi Kimba659, welcome to the forum. Have you been able to find someone to talk to on the Pande team yet? I didn't see any responses to your post here, so thinking you found another way to start your primary research interviews?
