Unauthorized Team Member

Post by FittyFrank »

Hi, I was looking at my team's stats and it shows a member there who was not invited. How could this happen if the team has a password? I'm currently the only member on my team and no one else knows the credentials.
Thank you,
Frank

Only you can change Team information, but that does not give you control over membership. Anyone can enter the team number, whether intentionally, or by mistake through mis-entering the number for the team they did want to be contributing towards.

Okay, I see. What does the team password do? Is that to do things like change the team name? I assumed users needed to provide the password to join a team.

There is no way to create an invitation only team.
It is possible someone mistyped a team number in their client.

The purpose of the team password is to allow you (and only you) to change the team name or revise the link to your team website. That's all you're in control of.

Hi everybody,

We face a similar problem right now. We want to change our team Name (246646) from "WirVsVirus" to "#HackingCorona". We do not manage to do this with the online form from Folding@Home. Is there any way to change the team name manually?

Thank you so much!

I'm not sure that # is a valid character for a team name ...

Start by changing your password. Then come back with the new password and make the name change.
