GPU performance

Post by hnapel »

hi team,

not sure if this is the correct area, but I noticed when not running F@H WU on my NVIDIA GPU the GPU-Z tool still reported some load up to 20% when moving the mouse and simply having windows open, I'm not sure if that is accurate, for example it may be a percentage based on an already lowered GPU frequency since it is basically idle at that point. Still I wonder if you are not using the computer and running F@H on the GPU, it may be an idea to minimize all windows so the GPU can be fully used for the WU,

greetings,

Harm

That's an interesting case. My system shows 0% GPU usage if all my windows are closed on a Windows 10 system and I have minimal applications running in the background. I am aware that when I use GPU accelerated applications, the folding performance is impacted and I can live with that as it's my primary system. I tend to close applications as opposed to leaving them minimized once I am doing using my system.
