GPU showing AS X86 on RECENT CPUs page

Post by HugoNotte »

Just a matter of interest, I have seen that on the RECENT CPUs page my Nvidia GPU sometimes features as "NVidia GPU" and sometimes as "X86", as if it was a CPU. I guess it might have to do with a specific project, I'm still trying to find that out. But I last observed that project 14430 declared the 750TI as a X86. The CPUiD stays the same either way.

Everything runs fine, points are awarded, just odd to see the GPU being shown as X86. Does anyone know why?

AFAIK, if a typo is made during the project setup, it will be carried across. It's just a cosmetic issue and I will bring it to the attention of the research and see if that can be fixed :)

Thanks for your reply. I didn't know it was that simple, just a typo. Just seemed odd to me.

Yes, I got to use what's available... Borders are closed, no income, no new hardware for now. But the 750Ti is chugging along.

Yup, tough times at the moment :( … My father passed away last year and that system was his and since I know he would have wanted to run it against COVID-19 so I am doing so on his behalf - I was pleasantly surprised how good this little card still is tbh ... Got some Artic Silvering to do to allow its CPU to enter the fray which might get done this afternoon with a bit of luck :) … Stay Safe, Fold On !!

When projects are pouring out of your ears, that can happen especially when you're working in a middle of pandemic... however, I have confirmed that the fix that worked on other projects will be applied to this one too. The researcher appreciates the heads-up :)
