Please fix the completely broken stats page!

Post by JacobSmith »

What is the point of the huge passkey I had to enter if FAH does not even distinguish between unique users? I do not get anything out of folding, so I like to look at the stats at least to see how much I am contributing, so this is important.

FAH makes the distinction, but the stats pages are not crucial enough for the exceedingly small team of developers. All the more as there is already a very well done third party website devoted to this task: https://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/
If you have been folding for a while already (a few weeks), you should find your username there.

Are you sure? I think they can only distinguish because of different teams that the users contribute to, due to what is available in the stats files that are available as .tar.gz.
I believe if the same user name, using different pass keys, contributed to the same team, their points would display as merged...

However that would be a rare use case, and maybe this is enough for the topic creator.
Just keep in mind that in order to show up, you need to be a team in the top 1400(?) and one of the top 2000(?) users in that team. Detailed requirements are available in the FAQ of https://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/.

Not really sure for the time being, but they do have what they need to make that distinction. It just doesn't cut it when you have to allocate time and resources. I mean, who would find it more useful or gratifying to optimize the stats rather than the cores and the other software?
We can try it, to be sure. I could put one of my machines on your username/team for a day. It would make a 1.5M difference - that should be clearly visible.

? I don't know exactly, but there are 12.000 teams listed: https://folding.extremeoverclocking.com ... p?s=&p=120 You can get there with a bit over 5M. For a team, that should be attainable.
For users, the number exceeds 1.600.000: https://folding.extremeoverclocking.com ... ?s=&p=7917 with the last ones scoring around 500 points.

From the FAQ:

Code: Select all

Q: Why don't we have user (individual) stats for our team?
A: Individual stats are added when the team's rank reaches at least 800. It is possible for individuals to be added sooner based on their team's production and movement. Most active teams have their members auto-added around a team rank of 1,200 - 2,000.
I'd guess that a) once a team made it past the threshold, it will continue to get updated and b) since the stats page exists since 2008, some of those users and their teams were "in scope" back then, so are still maintained. :)

The extreme overclocking website is not accurate either because I have folded for multiple teams.

Yes, makes sense. So you would have to produce some 200M in the worst case scenario (1200th team) or 115M in the best case (2000th team). But a single 2080 ti is getting you there in a couple months. It's still relatively easy to achieve.

If you're in a team that's "trending", i.e. climbing up the ranks quickly, you'll get there sooner.
My team showed up when we crossed team rank ~1400, with <160M team points. :)
Details of what decides when a team gets added are unknown to me.
