"Could not connect to Work Server (results)"

Post by BigJohnD »

I've had a whole series of such messages over the last 24 hours.

The downloads are fine but I seem to have several completed units which can not be sent.

The PC has been running continuously, I'm not over-clocking or anything. Is this just a temporary hiccup, or is there a problem at either end?

If you're running Windows, turn "Use IE settings" option to No.

If it doesn't help, the server looks heavily loaded (.103.162), and the Collection Server is down (103.100) since the power outage. All you can do is waiting for the server load to be back to normal.

No need to wait!!! The (wininet) message is the problem with downloading but not uploading. Change the IE setting in the fah client as indicated above.

Run the console client with -configonly to access the setup questions. On the GUI, right click the icon, and select configure, then the connection tab. Uncheck the boxes there. Restart the client, and it should upload.

Thanks, 7im.
Whatever it was it seems to have resolved itself, and all is well.

Hello all... hope this is the right thread 4 this ?? - haven't found an answer 4 my prob in other forums yet...

I have been folding for a bit now w/out any problems.... had the ez 2 fix "unable to upload issues", fixed w/ "no to IE" until this one recent unit that refuses to go home.

Please help me get this grown up WU back home :e) .....

MDCRL, look at your log info, the IPs of the servers to which you are trying to send. Then, please, read this ---> viewtopic.php?f=18&t=435

OK cool - Thanks 4 the quick reply & help, I will keep a look out for that server & probs from now on
- SO many posts/threads 2 look through - bound 2 miss the 1 right in plain sight

Not sure how I was to redirect 2 another server, but what I did was probably exactly that somehow....

I pulled that WU from its roost and transplanted it into another machine, changed the machine ID to correlate w/ what was already runnin there ... & it went through first time :D

I'll have to go back and find all the IP's & see what was different for the next time

Glad you are here to lend us all a hand - TY....

There's nothing you can do to redirect to a different server. Every project originates from a single server (called a Work Server) and must be returned to that server. If the Work Server is down, there is a second choice called a Collection Server. If you can't upload to either one, the result will just retry until it succeeds or until it expires.
