New to F@H

A friend at school told me about F@H so i have decided to run it during the night / while at school and i have a few questions. The project mine is curretly working on is p3040_supervillin-03. Is it normal for it to take a day and a half to complete? also how does it work that theres is ~50 projects or so and hundreds of thousands of computers running it? Are projects split up into smaller projects or are they ran on several machines than compared? Are points awarded at the competion of the project or throughout? ( i have seen that this project is 186 points but some people only got 8 from it)

Each project is divided into Work Units (WU) based on Runs, Clones, and Generations. Each computer works on one (or a few) of these at a time. There are THOUSANDS of WUs to process and analyze. Each WU may take from several hours to a few weeks to finish, depending on the complexity of the WU and the processing power/speed of the CPU. The larger WUs are only assigned to you if you specifically configure the client on your machine to request "large work units."

Points are awarded for a completed WU. If the WU fails internally (also called an Early Unit End or EUE), partial points are awarded. Points are redeemable for absolutely nothing, except a certificate downloadable from the F@H web site.
