Post by bendcb »

im currently crunching with a 570 gtx gpugrid* and was thinking of switching over because off all the neuro diseases that you cover, i was hoping tho that schizophrenia was one of them even if it was down the list somewhere.

Disclaimer: I'm not associated with Pande Group or Stanford in any way other than being a dedicated Folder. I am not a scientist and did not have a heavy emphasis in chemistry or biology in college.

It's my understanding the the primary disease class that Folding@Home's research hopes to address is degenerative tissue diseases. I don't think schizophrenia's underlying causes (of which there is much debate) is tissue degeneration, is it?

You might want to check out these articles/abstracts. I am not associated with Pande labs, nor have I any special medical training. These are the results of some top-level web searching, so take them for what they are. One can find many more potential results in such a search.
