Lol I read this (not the links) as "PS3" and it was making no sense at all! :D
F@h is now the top computing platform on the planet and nothing unites people like a dedicated fight against a common enemy. This virus affects all of us. Lets end it together.

Interesting read. Too bad F@H isn't currently doing a lot of P53/cancer related work, it could give us some very important insights.

Given that the bulk of work that Folding@Home accomplishes is basic research and not finely tuned towards any one specific physical application, I would imagine that results will benefit quite a number of disciplines and efforts, eventually. Computers keep becoming faster and faster, and F@H's software keeps becoming more efficient. Eventually there will be mountains of research that, I'm sure, will have benefits for many programs outside of the original charter.

Obviously, any of the Pande Group staff are welcomed to check my ramblings inaccuracies.

Sure F@H is doing a lot of basis research. But there are currently many projects around Abeta (an Alzheimer protein) which is quite specific research. I know that Folding@Home's resources are limited. It's a matter of what the PG prefers to to do with its resources, and currently most of them go to Alzheimer's, even though I would prefer cancer research (of course these decisions are not up to us).
