new project

Post by Iakovos »

I am very interested, for personal reasons of course, in ankylosing spondylitis. It appears that some peptides and the protein HLA-B27 which is misfolding play a critical part in this autoimmune disease. This disease affects around 1% of the population. There are curently no projects on BOINC that are dealing with this disease.I would like to ask how possible it is for FOLDING@HOME to start a project for this disease.Thank you very much and looking forward to an answer

Welcome to the F@H Forum Iakovos,

It depends on the researchers running F@H if they would like to investigate this disease or not. If they are interested in it, then in order for them to use F@H, it would have to go through the NIH peer review since F@H is funded by NIH (viewtopic.php?p=265157#p265157).
