Unanticipated things happen, that goes without saying. Even to donors- I'm about 25% down on PPD for the next week as one one of my machines has gone phut. But that only affects me so I didn't see the need to let anyone know.

When something unexpected happens at your end it affects a lot more people and (imo) it would better serve your interests to keep them informed as soon and as far as possible.

eg:

Yea, I really did mean "soon", but point taken about giving more detail in the future.

We're also building a lot more WUs to handle more load. That will be ready in a few days.
