I have uninstalled/reinstalled 7.4.4 but was not reassigned a new AS.
How do I switch to an AS that has WUs to process ?

The two servers that are showing in your log file are both Assignment Servers, so you are not even getting assigned to a WS. It could be because of a temporary lack of work for that many cores at the setting of client-type normal at the moment. Or there could be a different cause. You could try to see if reducing the core count gets this machine an assignment. Another possible change would be going for client-type advanced to see if that makes a difference.

I added client-type/advanced and restarted the computer but still am unable to get a new WU to process.

The initial IP address failure is a bit of a concern. Can you reach the two AS addresses from your browser? You should get a blank screen with an OK in the top left corner. If you can't get to those addresses, you might have to reset your router or internet provider's modem.

When I open the FAHControl.app both the Work Server and Collection Server are 0.0.0.0.
From the log file I used 171.64.65.121 and 171.67.108.200 and their URL did not respond with an OK.
FAHControl.app 155.247.166.220 from another iMac also did not respond correctly.
I'll try the DCM/Airport Extreme Base Station power off/reset to see if that fixes the problem.

The power off/reset did not fix the problem.
My other 9 Home Mac/PC computers are not having this problem while Folding.

If those two IP numbers are not responding, you might have to prefix them with "http://" in some browsers, then there is a problem with the network connection to that specific Mac. That blank screen with an OK is what I get from my MacBook at home for both CPU AS"s. As for the third address, that might be for a server running different code, not all servers respond with the blank screen with an OK on it.

Possibilities include firewall settings, and other malware preventatives. Have any of those changed on that Mac recently?

Joe, Thanks for sticking with this problem.
Adding the http:// to the IP address helped for 171.67.108.200 which responded with the OK but not for 171.64.65.121 which responded with "can't connect" for both Google Chrome and Safari.
Firewall/Security settings for Norton Antivirus for the Mac and Little Snitch have not changed for this Mac Pro or for my other Mac/PC computers but I disabled both of them and shutdown/restarted with the same non-connection problem still existing.
I also changed WU selections from "Any" to "Cancer" to see if that made any difference but the problem still exists.

It looks like the second CPU AS has gone down since checking earlier today, so not being able to connect is okay now. About the only thing left to try is changing the core count. I would try 12 as that would use all of the FPU's, the virtual cores through HT do add to the performance but not as much. This could show whether the AS just could not find a project set to use as many as 24 cores.

Project 6367 is limited to 12 cores as I recall from its announcement and beta test before being released to full folding. In any case, your second Mac Pro just has 8 cores and no HT. So its core count is just 8, not 16.

(If you can look at my completed WUs on the 24 core Mac Pro you will see that it has been successfully processing 6xxx WUs since July 2013 or whenever they became available.
It just stopped processing this series WU two days ago. --- WRONG ASSUMPTION BY ME)
I just reviewed all of my existing log files which go back to 12/14/13 and found that I had only been working 7xxx and 9xxx series WUs on this 24 core Mac Pro - no 6xxx series WUs.
Request that the programmers take a look at this problem and have the AS's FLAG 24 core Macs and NOT try to assign them 6XXX series WUs if they cannot process these WUs.
Also need programmers to fix my present condition whereby I am in this "Could not get an assignment/Failed to connect to.../Connection refused..." loop and cannot get assignment from another 7xxx or 9xxx WU AS.
Joe, Thanks for your help today :)

Joe_H wrote:Project 6367 is limited to 12 cores as I recall from its announcement and beta test before being released to full folding. In any case, your second Mac Pro just has 8 cores and no HT. So its core count is just 8, not 16.
Please walk me through the steps that I need to take to reduce my core usage from 24 down to 12. TIA / PLEASE DISREGARD THIS REQUEST - I went to the FAH WIKI Setup and learned how to change the Slot/cpu/edit cpu from -1 to 12 -- "00:14:48: <cpus v='12'/>"
Is there a better number either higher or lower to get max performance out of my Mac Pro ???
That appears to have fixed the problem:

Recommend that this potential problem be addressed in FAQs (if not there already) and that 24+ core CPUs receiving 6xxx series WUs change their slot edit settings from -1 to 12 so that FAH can continue processing these WUs rather than hanging up the computer until this issue is resolved or slot number is changed manually to 12.

Apparently form what you report, the AS software has been doing exactly as you ask - not assigning 63nn WU's to your 24 core setting Mac Pro, but is assigning to others. Checking the server status page, it appears several servers are down, including some that I know from prior folding experience supply 7000 series WU's to OS X computers.

As for changing the core setting, start by opening up the Configure window in FAHControl. Then select Slots and click on the CPU slot entry of the Mac Pro. Select Edit, and change the CPU threads setting from -1 or 24 to 12. Then save the changed setting for the slot. Further detail can be found here.

P.S. I was interrupted in posting this while at work, I see you found the directions needed. As for the rest of your suggestions, this situation might get added to a FAQ at some point, the documentation is a work in progress and is being done by volunteers. It is a bit unusual to have the number of servers I see offline at the same time, not certain if it is the whole cause for the problem you saw in getting an assignment for a high core count Mac Pro. As these 636n WU's are on the small to medium size, 12 might be as efficient as possible with them.
