Hi All,
One of my clients is trying to get a WU from 128.143.231.202 however it keeps saying that the server has not assigned a work unit?

As soon as I got assigned to a different work server it grabbed a WU and is now happily folding away.
Re: 128.143.231.202 did not assign WU
That server appears to be quite active, receiving and issuing a couple hundred WUs per hour. If you happened to catch it when all its WUs were already assigned (or assigning) sometimes it takes up to 10 minutes to be redirected, but there are 8 other servers for the Assignment Server to choose from so that should happen naturally. Generally speaking, many folks are just too impatient for the everyday server logic.

Re: 128.143.231.202 did not assign WU
I'm seeing the same behavior from the same work server since last night (about 12 hours ago). About every four minutes the logs show "Exception: Server did not assign work unit" and I've let that continue for several hours.
And for some reason this machine doesn't want to go to a different work server. Is there a way to force it to switch? Shutting everything down and bringing it back up didn't seem to do the trick; after three attempts at that it's still trying to get work from that same server.
I'm running on a CPU client with 32 CPUs.

Forgot to mention - this is a linux client and it doesn't look like it has been assigned a project ("Project: 0").

We would need to see more information about your system to be able to have any idea on why it is being assigned to this server and not shifting to another with appropriate work. The quickest way to do that is to follow the directions on how to post your log from Linux linked in the Welcome to the F@H Forum topic in the Announcements. The beginning of the log including system information and folding configuration is especially important, then include some of the download attempts.

Now that I've started that machine back up to grab some logs, it looks like that same work server has now successfully assigned it a work unit, so all is well. Thanks for your help, Joe_H and bruce!
