empty work server as'gnmt - server not listed? [Resolved]

Post by FritzV »

Since yestedrday I get for my CPUs no assignnent, both Linux and Windows.
According to the server-stats they seem not to exist.

11:14:51:WU00:FS00:Connecting to 171.64.65.121:80
11:14:52:WARNING:WU00:FS00:Failed to get assignment from '171.64.65.121:80': Empty work server assignment
11:14:52:ERROR:WU00:FS00:Exception: Could not get an assignment
11:25:56:WU00:FS00:Connecting to 171.67.108.200:8080
11:25:56:WARNING:WU00:FS00:Failed to get assignment from '171.67.108.200:8080': Empty work server assignment

The mentioned servers are not listed in http://fah-web.stanford.edu/pybeta/serverstat.html.

I'm running V 7.4.4 and everything has been well until 2014-09-29, 21:00:00 UTC. Since then the failure as above occurs.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

You have not provided enough information to debug this problem.

* Which client version are you running?
* What hardware are you running? (Preferably paste the portion of the log that shows the detection of your hardware.)

Does the latest v7.4.4 client work for you?

You can install it over the top of the existing version.

According to the server-stats they seem not to exist.

They exist, but only Work Servers appear on serverstat; the Assignment Servers are not listed.

The function of the AS is to redirect (or "assign") your client to a WS that can issue a WU for your configuration. The "Empty work server" message means that at that time, no work server could be found that had WUs that satisfied the requirements of your client.

There was a temporary shortage of WUs for uniprocessors. I suspect that has been resolved.

Hi,

and thanks for the answer.
It was right: I'm trying to run 2 uniprocessor WUs - but until now there were no new one. Changing to AUTO got immediatly a WU for 2 processors.
So I will watch out for new uniprocessor WUs.
