Sorry for the delay here. We have the data migrated, but there's one key piece of metadata we need to regenerate for the server to function, and I'm waiting to hear back from the work server dev team on how to do that. As soon as that's set up, we'll be good to go

I'm waiting on this as well - my 6.34 Linux client is sad as it has no work to do.

That's not true. There's plenty of SMP work to be done.

Please post the first few pages of your log.

Lot's of work for V7 clients as well. As the Server Status link shows, support for v6 clients is following a natural attrition process and has declined over time. With a streaming client on the horizon, v6 will go end of life at some point. Current client and one previous version is all that is typically supported. As has been stated before, plan accordingly. A V7 upgrade would assure a more consistent supply of work units, but that's always up to you to decide.

The server is up and running now. We may have a few short downtimes as we stabilize the configuration, but it should largely be available from this point forward (barring additional hardware failures).

Thanks for the updates everyone - I was wondering if something had gone wrong with my systems when they all quit - it's good to be back online again. The assignment server issues did confuse me - perhaps the other systems capable of serving V6 clients were just out of work.

Unfortunately my clients dumped the work units... oh well, some failures are par for the course in any project like this. I took this as an opportunity to move all but two of my systems to V7.

Cheers -
Sam

The server stats page says 128.143.199.96 & .97 are accepting, but my 6.34 client disagrees as do others above:

[22:05:53] Connecting to http://assign.stanford.edu:8080/
[22:05:54] Posted data.
[22:05:54] Initial: 0000; + Could not authenticate Assignment Server response
[22:05:54] Connecting to http://assign2.stanford.edu:80/
[22:05:55] Posted data.
[22:05:55] Initial: 0000; + Could not authenticate Assignment Server 2 response
[22:05:55] + Couldn't get work instructions.

Placing these 2 url's in Firefox returns the successful connect page, and pinging these IP address shows success as well??

I can confirm that serverstat is giving incorrect information. There's a plan to upgrade serverstat, but it's lagging because it's behind several other important issues.

My old Linux v6 client is out of work too ...

I guess I should migrate to v7 ... but I'm too lazy to do so

Got 1 wu last evening. Both servers (128.143.199.96 & .97) can be pinged, but are not accessible from the client nor a browser since last night. No upload or download attempts are working.

Is there any estimate as to when these will be fixed?
