Throwing out another idea.

since some are reporting successful uploads from Win 7 & Linux. and xp isnt working to the East Coast, & I can upload to Stanford

is it possible that there are different time-out variables between the various OS flavors

I can tracert to stanford, but times out to SK

Problems like this tend to be location specific, even PC specific, otherwise the forum would be swamped by all the XP donors having a similar problem, and so far that hasn't happened.

You didn't answer my question: Do you know how to sneakernet?

Those WUs are not lost until they expire, although the clock is running on QRB.

What I tried did not work. the id's for the stuck wu's was 00 02 & 04

I moved them to a USB stick & copied them to aWin 7 box. on re-starting Fah they were not recognized, None showed as pending in Advanced control Pane.

found the entry for SN on the Wiki; Will turn off the box before doing all of that

For V7, you can't move just the WUs. There's a data base that points to them.

I recommend copying the entire FAH subdirectory (well, you don't need \cores, \logs, \configs) then create a shortcut that has start-in pointing to it and invokes FAHClient. You'll probably want <pause-on-start v=true/>. Note that port 36330 will conflict with the client you probably are running on that machine, so you'll want to stop the other client long enough to perform the uploads or to determine that they don't work from there. (It's possible to change the port number if you want to run both clients on a regular basis, but it's a bit of a pain.)

There's a chance that these WUs did get uploaded but your client didn't delete them because it failed to get the ACK. You might want to post the PRCG and let us check on some/all of them before you try again.

Checked the two WU's just posted and the three mentioned in a prior post on the previous page, none have reports in the database for dschief. A couple of them have failure reports from other folders.

Well, you seem to be right about that.

Hi dschief (team 13761),
Your WU (P10476 R0 C156 G199) was added to the stats database on 2015-04-15 08:08:34 for 26879.5 points of credit.

Does that Win7 box use the same router and ISP connection as the XP box in question?
What kind of security software is on the XP box? Have you tried disabling it temporarily?

The XP box only has issues with 140.163.4.xxx ( Sloan Kettering ) everything going to stanford is fine!

what are they doing that is different from Stanford { that only affects XP } since Win 7 works, this is the part that has me baffled.

Box has 10488 (2, 3, 13 ) 140.163.4.235 with 0.0.0.0 listed as CS set to go off around noon local time

I have it set to Finish, so no new downloads. had a notion to uninstall FAH but save the work folder/data then do a fresh install.

Would the new client try to upload the old data, or would I loose the database links?

I disabled Firewall & AVG before wu finished, before it had been disabled after initial failure, retry's continued to fail.

will continue with new procedure to turn off FW just before completion. May have just stumbled upon a work around

Are you using the Microsoft firewall that's part of XP or are you using a 3rd party product?
