Was having same problem on 2 pc's. Both with duel 12 core AMD cpu's. Was able to begin getting wu's again when I reduced the number of cores being used by cpu to 12. Then added another cpu and because I'm also running gpu's on each I put the number of cores folding on it to 8. And now I'm getting wu's on both cpu's that are folding.
I'm folding because Dec 2005 I had radical prostate surgery.
Lost brother to spinal cancer, brother-in-law to prostate cancer.
Several 1st cousins lost and a few who have survived.

If you're seeing cpu:7 in your log try editing your configuration for the cpu slot by changing the number of CPUs from -1 to 6. Others have also reported having a problem when attempting to get work for cpu:7 but have had some success by changing it to cpu:6 - viewtopic.php?p=282559#p282559

Hello.

Please could someone point me what is the problem here? I can´t fold anymore since I´m getting the "Empty work server assignment" error.

Thanks in advance

31 is prime, you will not get assignments for 31 cpus. Big numbers of CPUs are possibly a problem because of one server being rebuilt. You may need to set CPU:30 (or CPU:32 if you don't need a permanently free CPU) and client-type=bigadv (not sure if that is still required). Or try setting three slots for fewer cores each (eg 12:12:8, or 12:12:6 to leave two free cpus) while projects for more cpus are in short supply.

As this system is running Windows, client-type=bigadv will not help. Those projects are Linux only and 24+ cores.

Currently projects for up to 12 cores are widely available, some projects will assign to higher core counts. Those are in very short supply though compared to the demand.

Thank you for the clarification.

Now I understood.

I created 2 12 cpus and one 8 cpus slots and now I´m back to folding business.
