daily_user_summary issue.

There appears to be several users with no usernames in the daily file. Example lines:

Code: Select all
253622370   1237512   0
   32546224   30680   0
   3494627   621   70911
   2200813   636   231781

Which looks to be the credit and not the username for the first field. This has been there for a long time it seems.

Additionally looks like a team entry that doesn't exist:

2244970
4294967295

Not to mention some crazy character usernames that don't translate so well.

The database could really use a cleanup of garbage usernames

FAH has, in fact, asked that names be limited to standard western characters, but not everybody uses the same alphabet so others creep in from time to time. If that was actually your name, would you want your credits deleted?

The FAH policy is that once points are credited, no edits will be make to the database. (We frequently do get requests to merge two accounts where there was a minor misspelling and those requests are invariable denied.)

Understood. But most of them haven't added credits in years. What about the other errors above that where there is no usernames in the summary file?

Or this new issue:

anonymous 12812668353 63324110 0
anonymous 140 3 0

Two anonymous users on the same team. Obviously the first is correct one. But this is just the small issues I am finding with something so simple. Makes me worried about how the data is being handled.

These summary files are completely broken. Whoever runs stats sites off these are not going to be accurate.

keith099 2378224865 43323 3074
keith099 110484639 64065 3074

jims85montess 74591948 1688 111065
jims85montess 6205067 605 111065
jims85montess 2425431 318 0
jims85montess 665216 182 0

Two entries on the same team. Did this person lose some PPD? If you look at FAH stats it gets even more hosed:

3,331 jims85montess 74,591,948 1,688 111065
31,113 jims85montess 2,971,743 294 0

Where is this 2,971,743? Not in the summary file anywhere. This is just for starters. I have many more I can list. This doesn't seem to emulate what http://folding.stanford.edu/stats/donors shows.

Sometimes, people use their email as username, but to protect privacy, nothing is printed in public strating with the @. Those users are probably folding with different emails which explains the "duplicates".

If you do a Donor Statistics search on this user you will find that the first entry is for Team 111065, the second for Team 0 and therefore not the same team. That second entry will be in every list as it dates back to last year when it appears this user decided to join a specific team.

Yes I understand they are on different teams. It was the entries in the file that are odd:

jims85montess 74591948 1688 111065
jims85montess 6205067 605 111065
jims85montess 2425431 318 0
jims85montess 665216 182 0

Same user, two teams, with two entries per team for the same user. But where is the 2,971,743 that shows for this user on the donor stats page?

Never mind I found the entry for the above. It is a case issue. And that makes sense with the email part. But now the question is how to handle this in a stats page since there is no way to decipher the differences in the summary file.

I see that http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/ ... =&u=717577 merges the entries together for the user. Is that valid or should the second one just be dropped?

Thanks.

That is the choice of the person running EOC stats as all the information available publicly is the username, team membership and points earned. PG does not merge them in the official stats as the stored value includes any part after and including an "@". Notice that the EOC stats do not merge his entries under the default team with these two entries.

If you do a "Starts with" search on this username, a total of 5 entries can be found through http://folding.stanford.edu/stats/donors.

Code: Select all
3,332   jims85montess   74,591,948   1,688   111065
20,171   jims85montess   6,205,067   605   111065
31,118   jims85montess   2,971,743   294   0
34,875   jims85montess   2,425,431   318   0
70,542   jims85montess   665,216   182   0

That indicates at least three different email addresses were appended to the username at various points in time.
