Upload stuck at 100% | 140.163.4.241

Collection Servers sometimes don't accept WU.
Upload is really slow (it's not my internet connection, I tested it just with 5 Mbit/sec)

Uploads gets stuck several times nearly at 100%.

Collection Servers sometimes don't accept WU.

All Servers do get saturated, at times. With a multitude of clients which happen to try uploading at random times, it's a bit like a Denial o Service Attack. The client is specifically designed to retry uploading until it is successful. (Technically speaking, 140.163.4.241 is a Work Server, not a Collection Server, but that really dosn't change anything. It does appear to have been very busy.)

In your first log, there were many, many connection attempts that were unsuccessful before an upload actually started. I don't know what happened there other than something being busy.

In your first example. two WUs are uploading concurrently to different servers.

I should have explained a bit more
It's not different examples it's the same WU (you can see by comparing the exact uploading size and IP)

I realized sth wrong because the WU was down to 500kPPD (a x22 on a 1080Ti) and a second WU was already completed while the first one stuck at uploading.
I restarted the PC and my router at around 21:40.
After I restarted the PC, the router was still not providing internet connection and therefore the many connection attempts.
One WU got uploaded but the other WU (using 140.163.4.241) got stuck again and I restarted the PC at 22:20
Then it got stuck again and I restarted again at 22:37

Finally it got uploaded at 22:48.

When you check the first log you can see that there is no reconnection attempt between 21:50 till I restarted on 22:22

In my experience, when the FAHClient attempts to uplod a large result to an overloaded FAH server, the upload moves very slowly and in some cases, times out. I don't know how to do anything about that (except to notify the owner of the server that he needs to fix something.) If, on the other hand, the server is actually down, the client will redirect the upload to a Collection Server which is often a good thing. (Examples of that attempted redirection process do appear in your log when the problem was actually your router.)

FAHClient always tries the Work Server first.

The strange thing is that the upload works - slowly but it works. But then at 99.xx% it hangs forever.
There should be some routine to recognize such a behavior and then the upload should be redirected to another server.

There is such a routine built into the client already. Depending on how the upload fails it can be almost immediate, or it can take 15-30 minutes before the upload s retried.

And after the restart it assigns the upload to the same server.

As Bruce already said, it always tries the WS first. Restarting resets which server gets tried next. Your network issues with getting connections to some servers at times don't help either.

As for not catching the issue and retrying, at very slow rates data is still being sent and received and the connection is seen as active, but you won't see a progress update. This especially applies if ACK packets are getting dropped anywhere in the network connection between your system and the WS or CS. The longest I have seen this go on in one of my logs ended with a successful upload after over an hour.

There is a known issue where sometimes the client does lose a connection and fails to recover. Then a client restart is necessary.

Another thing Bruce mentioned is that this is more likely to happen when servers are under high load. More servers are in the process of being set up, but it takes time to configure them properly.

I don't have any network issues. The server 140.163.4.241 has issues.

Yes, you have network issues. They may not be local to your system, but they exist between your system and the server. We are not getting complaints from others on uploads to that server, though others may not be getting hangs - just slow uploads.

By restarting the client resetting which server I mean the client will not have the information that the WS had been tried. The client always tries the WS first, then if it sees a failed connection, then it tries the CS. I explicitly said that in the first line of my previous post.

Go to your browser and enter the IP address of the server in question (in your case, 140.163.4.241:8080). Does it open the server's banner page or do you get another message?

There is a banner page, I guess, stating Folding@Home - Work Server - Version 9.5.4

The problem is that it doesn't fail. It just hangs. And always close to 100%
And when you look at the log at 22:34 you can see that the upload was not even particularly slow but then stuck at 99.24%

Like I stated before I restarted the router and PC because of upload issues to this server:

I've had a problem with this server too but it was so slow it gave up in the end and pushed the completed unit to the collection server which worked normally

Both 140.163.4.241 and 155.247.166.220 are being reported as unavailable networks. Those two networks are not even in the same US state. I've never seen errors like that. Maybe the route from your location to the USA is having problems. Is Vodafone GmbH known for reliability or for unreliability?
