7im- Joking apart, can you look at my post#2 [above] link?
I'm not getting much response and would appreciate a leg up on a tricky one right now.
I may not stop folding on the core yet, but messing around after days of crunching is wearying ...
The GPU and CPU on the OS SATA disk are OK- but the Aux IDE disc CPU seems not to handle similar CPU units at all well.

Say, isn't there some other important event near the end of 2012? Winter solstice? Nah. Galactic alignment? Nope. Presidential election? Naa. End of the world? NO. Oh, I know, V7 public release!!! 8-)
Aren't you to pessimistic, end of... I'm still counting on 'beginning of'

My money is on overclocking. One unstable WU out of a hundred wasts more time than not backing off far enough from a setting that you have found to be unstable. Back off a little more.

New08, your ide drive is the only one failing? What board, what oc ( bios settings )? Not in any chance running your pci interface out of spec? If you are, pata drives don't usually like running that out of spec at all. Other then that, back down on the overclock in general and see if it happens again as others have suggested.

Or/and, run some surface tests on that ide hdd, I reckon it probably isn't brand new anymore and it might have some problem sectors not related to overclocking. Takes some time with a reasonably sized ide drive but it's worth it to rule out.
