Points not being awarded - Attached Log

Post by BYUSinger84 »

I'm having an issue where it seems like everything is running just fine, but my stats are not updating like they are supposed to. I upgraded almost all of my servers this summer, but since that time I'm only getting around 9,000 points a day. I should be getting well over 60,000 as that's what I was doing before on the older hardware. Most everything is a Quad Core Xeon (socket 1155) and is plenty fast for folding. Below is my log...any help would be appriciated because I don't know what else to look at.

This is just the latest snipit:

Hi BYUSinger84 (team 33),
Your WU (P8049 R227 C2 G65) was added to the stats database on 2012-09-22 09:07:19 for 223.41 points of credit.

Hi BYUSinger84 (team 33),
Your WU (P8049 R443 C2 G58) was added to the stats database on 2012-09-22 11:07:15 for 223.41 points of credit.

You are getting base points + 10% for these A4's. Do you have a passkey configured? To get bonus points, you need to have a Passkey and successfully complete SMP 10 WU's maintaining an 80% successfully completed ratio.

I do have a passkey. I've used it for a long time and I did verify it already. My history shows that I was pushing over 1.5 million points a month. Now I'm lucky to get about 40K...

Unfortunately you have fallen below the 80% requirement necessary to receive the QRB.

Your history shows a current rate of 74% with 4486 bonus completed but 1540 bonus expired.

I can't tell you when those failures occurred but with that many work units it's probably faster for you to get a new passkey (requires a different e-mail address) than to get from 74% back to 80%.

Your current returns appear to have been returned before the preferred deadline so perhaps the failures are not recent. You could check your logs as far back as possible but there might not be any error indication if the failures were caused by missing the deadline. Looking at your 3rd party stats the fall below 80% appears to have occurred around mid to late August so I'm not sure how many logs you would have available before then but v7 does keep a few in the logs directory.

What 3rd party stats page did you go to, to see those %?

The % of bonus qualified returns is only available to moderators, site admins and PG.

As to when you fell below 80% I looked at kakao stats: http://kakaostats.com/usum.php?u=1320719

It looks like August 29th was the date you fell below 80% and there would have been more failures since then in order for the % to drop to 74.

I realize you have a number of clients running but if one of them is constantly failing the only way I know to find out which one is to check the logs. That should be done before you get a new passkey, otherwise it may get disqualified very quickly too.

How do I get a new passkey once I find out what's going on? I think the server I've been having issues with was the server that I've since decommissioned. I'll check the logs just to be sure. Thanks for all your help and answers. They have been extremely helpful.

You can get a new passkey via http://folding.stanford.edu/English/FAQ-passkey

Make sure you use the same user name but a different email address, otherwise you'll get the same unqualified passkey that you're now using.

And if I want to continue to use the same e-mail/key, I just need to make sure that the uploads are ok and then eventually when I hit 80% again, everything should just start working agian?

Correct but with your current stats that would take considerably longer than qualifying a new passkey. The choice is of course yours but having to do hundreds of work units to reach 80% or do 10 with a new passkey ...

gotcha...I just hate having to use a different e-mail but oh well...if I change my passkey right now, will it take effect with my current work units or do I need to wait for new ones to be assigned?

New ones. The same passkey must be present when downloading and uploading.

I did a rough calculation using your current stats and you would have to successfully complete ~1500 work units to get your percentage back to 80.

It will apply with the next WU's done. Changing the passkey in the middle of processing a WU will keep it from getting bonus, but you are not getting that anyways now. Once 10 WU's have been completed successfully with the new passkey you will get the QRB as long as you maintain at least a 80% completion rate.
