Project:7623 (Run 170, Clone 0, Gen 75)

Post by BikePsyco »

I'm still new to folding so bear with me as I try to explain myself. I just bought a new GTX 660, and in an effort to get it to work I tryed downloading the beta version of FAHcontrol. Well, it recognized the GPU now, but it won't start. So after more research I learned that Kepler's only work with the beta sets. Since I'm not on the beta team I figured I'd leave that to those who know more than I. But that leaves me with the problem, I know have a WU that I am unable to process. How do I send it back so that it is sent out to someone else?
03:30:31:WU03:FS01:FahCore returned: INTERRUPTED (102 = 0x66)
Is the error I see in the log. I have 7.2.9 FAHcontrol version.

And then about disabling the GPU slot, Going to Configure>Slots>GPU and clicking remove the right way to do it or is there a better way?

Welcome to foldingforum.org, BikePsyco.

If you remove the slot, V7 will recognize that the WU associated with that GPU cannot be processed. The WU will be deleted and assigned to someone else. (It's not a recommended procedure, but under the circumstances, you really don't have a choice.)

After you've done that, there's one more thing you can try. First, search through the log and find the segment where the WU for the GPU was downloaded and started. Post that segment.
Second, Pause any WU which might be folding. Delete the folder called "cores" which can be found in the data directory. Add the GPU slot back and there's a possibility that it might work. Post the segment of the log showing the new WU starting. I don't have any way to test it, myself, but if it doesn't work just delete the new slot again and you'll be no worse off than you are now. If it does work, GREAT.

Here is everything for that GPU Slot in the log since I loaded 7.2.9. I will try your suggestions now to see if they work, and post the log in here.

This is what it says when you add the slot. Same behavior as last time, acts like its going to work, card jumps to full speed but then doesn't do anything, no cpu or gpu load. I'll post the after pausing part in a seperate post.

This is all it says after I paused it. I guess I will wait till they have the implementation of the kepler's figured out, and then try again.

You paused it only 8 minutes after it started. Whenever you pause it will always give those last three lines and then later when you unpause it should start back up again. May I suggest that you let it run a while longer to see if it actually progresses.

kepler not officially supported yet (in testing)

if bruce's advice doesn't work

1 remove the slot - wait til kepler (600 series) public supported and a new core release
2. join the beta team

Bruce's advice was amended above (delete the cores folder). It may be simpler than that. (I have not tested this rename process, so somebody please confirm or deny if it works.)
3. Rename the cores folder that's in the data directory. Pause the slot. Wait a bit. Resume folding.

The new version of the core should be available for advanced or released fah projects but it won't overwrite the old version yet. For those who might not see this suggestion, the automatic update should begin soon.

Don't ask to join the beta team unless you really do want to monitor your clients closely and give detailed reports of any anomalies.

May I suggest that you pause the slot before renaming the cores folder. Then you should be able to restart the slot immediately without waiting as it should reconstruct the folder structure and auto-DL an appropriate core before running the WU in the slot.
