When was this WU sent, earlier today or another day? At this point the WU has not yet been entered into the stats database, so there is no information on it yet.

I do not see it in the database. It should be there by now.

Project leader notified.

Any news on this WU, even that it's lost and I can stop checking whether or not it's been credited?

(I guess the same will apply to the other missing P9102 here)

I was told by the project leader that he would check to see what happened to it. Nothing new to report.

OK, fair enough.

I was wondering- when a returned WU doesn't get added to the database, is it just a points issue or does it stall the progress of that particular trajectory until it's located/times out?

I have no idea, my assumption is that the database for points is separate from the research data but I do not know being that is just my assumption.

The next Gen (project:9102 run:33 clone:24 gen:31) has been completed successfully. That would suggest that the science is progressing.

Noting that this work unit is not 0,0,0 or 1,1,1 but 33,24,30 one could easily conclude the work continues. And since fah has been running for 10+ years, and completed billions of work units, I'm sure they long ago figured out not to make sending out the next WU independent of the crediting of points from the previous WU.

Sometimes you can answer your own question if you take that question and ask just the opposite one. If the opposite question seems blatantly ridiculous, then smart people like PG already answered it long ago.

Like I said, that's how I thought it would work.

But when something is based on assumptions (however obvious they may seem) it never does any harm to obtain confirmation.

You may feel differently of course.

FYI, detailed knowledge of the Server infrastructure is only known to a handful of PG Members. Administrators/Moderators don't know those details. Instead, we observe the behavior of the Servers and make educated guesses. Thus, the best confirmation you can get is your observation fits our educated guess (unless a PG Member steps in and clarifies it).

Do note that an overview of the Servers is present here (viewtopic.php?f=18&t=17794) which may be slightly dated but is still a good gist. Do note that the WU Servers (Work/Collection) are different from the Stats Server. That way, when Stats are down, folding carries on as normal and once the Stats are back online, points are credited in batches until all the backlog is cleared.

Thanks, I'd read the server overview some time ago- I like to know how the things I'm using work. And what to do when they don't, as far as possible

That basically covers what happens when a WU is sent out and how it gets back when completed. I fully understand that what happens to it after it's returned is of nobody's concern outside PG and I've no intention of asking for any detail, certainly not beyond the broad query I raised.

If even that was a little too far then I apologise.
