10469(R:0 C:79 G:248) core:0x17 UNKNOWN_ENUM (127 = 0x7f)

Post by Yakbreeder »

Oops I did it again. Got another UKNOWN_ENUM error.

I had to shut down my system late last night due to storms rolling through. I know this wouldn't cause the error, but I thought I'd throw it in. I've been chugging right along since I got that last UNKNOWN_ENUM (127 = 0x7f) roughly this time last month.

Here's the current error:

Just noticed that jadeshi from Pande was looking into the previous error I posted. Would these two be related?

Don't worry to much about this error ... the client usually recovers it (as you can see, the WU restarted after it) and finishes the unit without any more issue ... of course, I guess you didn't get any other error from Windows ?

And since this is a generic error code that doesn't give useful information to help debug, we don't really know what happens in this case ... we just know that it happens from time to time on some systems, and it doesn't seem to cause any harm but losing a bit of compute time because of the rollback from the last checkpoint.

There's no way for us to know.

Most of the time when I see a UNKNOWN_ENUM error 127=0x7f there's a second message giving additional information, and if that additional information is the same, I'd say it's probably related. In this case, there's no such information in the log to be matched or mismatched.
