This is my second post on the forum. I let my previous WU expire because someone pointed out I was assigned a unit that was already completed and accepted, providing no project value.
This work unit is suffering a similar problem. I was assigned a WU this morning and it is estimated to complete in over 3 days. My GPU usually completes tasks in a few hours, and the previous one was not going to be completed by the expiration. This one will be completed long after the timeout and provide only the base points on completion. As stated in the previous post, I am fine with minuscule points, but if my hardware is struggling with these projects I'd rather shut down the GPU and focus on the CPUs I have while someone with better suited hardware completes the WUs faster.
Is this a problem with the GPU or a recent set of projects that I just happen to struggle with?
Some troubleshooting points:
Stock hardware, stock drivers, stock BIOS
Dusted system
Hardware monitor says GPU is lower temp than CPU and well within within its limits.
Fans are running fine.

First, is the estimate after the WU has run for at least 2-3% continuously? If not, the estimate will be off, usually on the high side.
Two, as mentioned in that other topic, post your log information. We need to see the first couple hundred lines that shows what the client detected as hardware and software, plus a section showing the WU being worked on. This topic has directions to the log and how to post depending on which OS you are running - viewtopic.php?f=61&t=26036.

I hope I did this right. I grabbed it at the point it asked the server for a task to 5% completion on GPU. It is currently at 15.55% with no pausing or power issues.

First 100-200 lines of the log? How many cores does you CPU have, and how many are being used for CPU folding?
Within FAHControl you may need to use Refresh to reload the log from beginning.
Please reduce the logging verbosity back to the default of 3.

The CPUs shouldn't be a concern. The problem is the GPU. The CPU on this and my other machine are fine on their work units.
This is over 200 lines to include the GPU getting to 4%. GPU is FS01.
There are 4 cpu cores running folding and the first 200 lines of the log don't cover this WU at all, so I copied the 200 lines from the start of 5/3/2020.
I've reset the verbosity to 3 and cleared the log to refresh it. I think this section still has verbosity 4, though

What temperatures are your CPU and GPU running at? Reason is that the GPU might be throttling itself resulting in lower clock speeds thus taking a long time to finish WUs.

The highest the GPU has ever gotten during folding was 90°C, but it was running at 83°C during this and the last slow WU. The 90°C was weeks ago and a fluke during a warm day. It still finished WUs in hours, not days. Its usual temp is between 80°C and 85°C.
The CPU maxes out at 87°C, currently folding at max speed at 76°C. Does the CPU data matter for the GPU folding?

There are a number of different specs of the GP106M. Can you provide details of the laptop - make and model ? Chances are it's a) a low power chip and b) it's probably thermally throttling to stay at 83C which is NVidia's preferred max temp.
If you download something like GPU-Z, its sensors tab will show a "Perfcap Reason". If you could have a look while the gpu is folding and say what the Perfcap Reason says?

Try running the GPU slot with the CPU WU paused. You may be running into combined thermal limit of the laptop cooling system. Or the air passages may need blowing out or the heat transfer pad or paste has dried out.

Different units have different numbers of atoms. 11741 has a lot - 165550 - and that will push smaller cards pretty hard. Big cards (e.g. a 1080ti with three times the cores of your 1060) love big molecules but smaller cards can struggle.
I suggest you download MSI Afterburner and use it to downclock your card. Alternatively do what Dell advise for this very laptop:
