Updated public beta clients

We are in the process of releasing the updated beta clients. So far, beta2 has been released for OSX-Intel-Console and Linux versions. These are available from the download page. Other clients will be coming shortly. These clients will expire August 2, 2008.

The Linux and OSX clients have no major differences beta1 to beta2. We anticipate a few minor changes in the Windows SMP client.

Thanks for contributing! Please direct questions and comments to the appropriate client-specific forums.

No significant changes to these three.

The Windows SMP client v5.91beta6 is now posted. This client has one substantial change--it checks on startup to make sure mpiexec can run. Hopefully this will clarify of the install/configuration problems and provide guidance to users on how to fix them.

(The underlying issues with mpiexec are inherent to the MPI libraries and not to FAH; we may at some point switch MPI libraries, but debugging the libraries is beyond our scope.)

The Windows CPU console and GPU console 6.01beta3's have been put on the downloads page. These should resolve the very large log file issue.

I have just put updated6.01beta5 Windows CPU and GPU (Radeon X16xx, X18xx, X19xx and ATI FireStream) clients up. Both console and System Tray versions.

Please note that the system tray version DO NOT yet contain the new viewer, so this beta has no graphics. Please test them for stability and functionality, as a rather large amount of code was moved about. Pausing, restart, try to start 2 systray clients (which it should let you), and check the logs and other behaviors. Generally try and break it :)

Thanks.
