"Mark Forums Read" Not Working?

Post by Asgaroth »

Hi All,

On the main page there is an option to "Mark Forums Read", whenever I click this link an new page pops up saying that the forums have been marked as read, then it redirects me back to the main page, however, if I then click on "View new posts", I still get the 220K posts that have been there since I first registered on the forums.

Is this a known issues, or, is there something I might be doing wrong here?

Any thoughts on what I can try to mark the forums read?

Yes, the "View new posts" feature has been broken for years on the forum ... :(

The workaround to clear it is to Logout, then Login again to the forum.

Aaah right, okay, thanks, at least there's a workaround.

Wonder why it doesnt get fixed, is it a "feature" of the version of phpbb that's running here?

Bug or feature, I don't recall at this point. It might be fixed in a later release, but have not read through all of the release notes for the newer versions.
