No hurry, PG will need to make a new core, and they can't start until they get one.

No need to spread rumours ... nothing has been confirmed yet, so everything posted might be wrong.
Official announcement might occur at GTC : http://www.gputechconf.com/ in two weeks.

The current cores and WUs run across GPU versions, GPU manufactures and OSs. I don't think they'll be starting from scratch.JimboPalmer wrote:No hurry, PG will need to make a new core, and they can't start until they get one.

It should ... but remember the bugs with FAH when Maxwell was first released

The only thing we know for sure is that every prediction is premature before the hardware drops. Any comment before then is speculation. It's not unlike posting how you plan to spend you Lottery winnings. Fun while it lasts, but not productive to a support forum.

Re: nVidia Pascal X80
That P100 isn't even a video card. It's a compute unit. Not really comparable to the X80.

It might fold twice as fast, or it may not fold at all until a new FAHCore comes out, or it's just another incremental increase for an incremental price. As I said above, no one knows yet. No one has any info to help with your buying decision yet. Sorry.7im wrote:The only thing we know for sure is that every prediction is premature before the hardware drops. Re: nVidia Pascal X80
We still don't know what the customer grade Pascal GPU will be like ... it might be completely different than GP100 (gamers don't need DP for instance).
