Tests have show upwards of 1.12m PPD dependant on WU. If i'm reading right this is the socketed version so it may be a little bit faster than the PCIe version

Also, P100 is supposed to use 3840 Pascal cores when Titan XP only has 3584 active cores ?

No, Tesla P100 has 3584 cores like Titan XP, only difference is HBM2 memory.

The upcoming (October 2016) Quadro P6000 will have 3840 CUDA cores with 24 GB of GDDR5X memory (http://www.nvidia.com/object/quadro-gra ... ascal.html). The P6000 is supposedly around 9% faster than the NVIDIA Titan X (Pascal version) and cost in the neighborhood of $5,000. (http://www.anandtech.com/show/10516/nvi ... 6000-p5000).

Maybe nvidia will release a gtx 1080ti with 3840 cuda cores and 16 GB HBM2 for $1500?
But this would be more for games performance and the gtx 1080 is still best for folding when comparing the prices.

Actually, there are situations where FAH uses DP. The the "sanity check" runs (1) in DP on the CPU platform (if it's supported) or (2) in DP on the GPU (3) if neither, then it tries SP on the GPU -- probably with relaxed tolerance.

Tesla GP100 has 1:2 single to double precision performance and gtx 1080 GP104 has 1:32.
So some DP is left on gtx 1080 and should be enough for sanity checks.

Right. PLENTY!
FAH uses very little DP, and even on GPUs on which the DP performance is exceptionally slow, it won't be enough to slow down the processing enough to measure.
