Upgrading the motherboard BIOS, usually does nothing, and it is not necessary if the manufacturer's website as indicated for your case.
Regarding the graphics card firmware is different case. The update can significantly improve operation of the device. But the video card manufacturer's website is also usually write about it.

Silly Rico! I thought the double wide, cards, the golden colored contacts, going to be seated in the slot, would be in the middle, or 3/4" on either side, this would definitely hit, that sound box. Note current card, is 1/4" from that sound box.

The two pronged card, the 2nd prong, would be on the left, moving away from cpu, thus both prong find a hole!

The single fan EVGA 1050 ti is looking good.

How many rigs do you have now in total? Isn't the electricity bill a problem over time?

I know would like the 1070, went for the 1050ti. As soon as I get the card installed total will be 3 folders.

Folding as we speak: 960 & 1060 one machine, the other 750ti 32 bit machine. Using the kill-o-watt meter, these guy's are using $41.00 mo.

Very soon I will have 20 solar panels on the roof, which should be a huge offset, ROI 8yr.

The gtx 1050ti needs a new driver but we are still waiting for nvidia to release one which is compatible with folding, maybe until christmas.
In the meantime the older driver 373 can be modded to work.

Okay dl 373.06 64 bit, what do u mean modded to work? I will use this driver, when the card comes, special instructions for FAH?

There is one mod instruction for the 373 driver and new today one mod for the 376 driver too which is easier.
It goes like this:
1) install the 373 driver
2) copy nvopencl.dll from C:\Windows\syswow64 to C:\
3) install the 376 driver
4) copy nvopencl.dll from c:\ to c:\windows\syswow64
5) reboot

Tried three times with Geforce GTX1050 Ti 373.06, win7 64, system check fail. ver. 375.95 installed, correctly, FAH has put the 1050 to work, entered pass key, check vnc wireless connection. I named her Aileen, ready go join the farm

Ah sorry, the older version does not install with gtx 1050.
I guess you fold a fahcore 18 which works but when you get a fahcore 21 it will fail.
