I'm curious if anyone has tried or seen any data on how this new little guy folds. I'm considering choosing this card for an upgrade to a lower-end system in my house and I'm wondering if it would give me the folding performance boost I think it would, coming off of an old AMD Radeon 5450.

It has half the shaders as a gtx 1050 Ti. So I guess it will make 50k-75k PPD.
The biggest advantage is there are single slot low profile models.

Yeah, that's precisely why I'm interested because the system in question is a retail Micro-ATX, so I don't have a lot of room, but I figure where I can fit a low profile, single slot Radeon, I should be able to fit a low profile, single slot GT.

Just got a EVGA GT 1030 SC for dedicated folder and it seems to be getting about 63k ppd on my first unit with a 4 min tpf at stock clocks

Low Profile backplates are available for several of the more powerful GPUs (GTX 10x0 or 10x0 Ti) but they probably are all fat enough to require some space in a second slot. I have a low profile system which could accommodate them but only if the 16x and 1x slots were reversed or the case was modified :( so you'll need to look.

KFA2 GeForce GTX 1070 KATANA Aktiv would be a fast single slot GPU.

It will take 8 pins of power in addition to PCI-E, which the GT 1030 will not. But it is a good find if the OP has the power available.

(I went with a low profile but double wide GTX 1050ti as I lacked power but had room)
