RX 550 / 560 PPD

Post by GPU timpster »

I'm considering getting a low end GPU to have so it's not as hard to wait for the GPU prices to stabilize. I've got hardware that I could get rid of, and just use the AMD lower performing card to wait for something else from team red.

I'm wondering if the performance of a RX 560 is any better than the 460 (~ <90,000 PPD). If not, I'll just get a 460, and that performance would be very similar to a GTX 660. I still have the card, and it works great, but it also draws a lot of the watts too, so for games it's not efficient. I was considering keeping it but the insane GPU prices make me want to price gauge the hell out of "bitcoin miners".

The RX 560 has 1024 shaders while RX 460 has only 896 shaders. That is why RX 560 is 15% faster than RX 460.

Well that certainly helps--thank you, I'll get the newer cards once the prices drop!

If power usage and fan noise are issues, remember that you can get an overclocked, fanless 460 (XFX) that does not need an aux power plug... Works just fine!
