Not that it will make a huge difference in PPD, but you can run CPU = 6 safely.

Yea makes next to no difference mate. Was originally running 6 then dropped to 4 to see if would boost my GPU but nothing.

Had a look at mSI Afterburner, GPU is around 80% and power is around 80% as well. This strikes me as odd?

What do you mean by GPU failed? If it stalled have you rebooted since? I've noticed that once a GPU stalls the PPD will be lower till a reboot so on my Linux boxes I set up a script to automatically reboot after a GPU stalls. That's all I have to offer.

I guess a stalled GPU will reset to base clock - so no boost anymore, which a reboot fixes.
GPU usage should be around 90%. Maybe remove the GPU overclock and see if GPU does not stall anymore and PPD stays high again.

In the advanced control the GPU slot was red and said GPU failed. Rebooted PC and went back to stock.

Woke up this morning and PPD up to 900k. An improvement but still seems a little low?

I increased page file to 32gb and power mode to high performance. Not sure if that changes anything for folding?

Page size doesn't matter unless your computer is being used for A LOT of other programs. If that's the case, FAH performance will suffer anyway because it's designed to avoid using resources that other programs might be using.

Each GPU needs one free CPU, so if you're running some other "heavy" application that could be a problem. CPU folding can be set to us all but one or two of the CPU threads, using the assumption that the typical processor on a home computer is lightly loaded. (YMMV). On your 8-way CPU with one GPU, that means using 6 CPUs for FAH is a reasonable default but your setting of 4 is also reasonable.

You do need to avoid whatever is causing your GPU drivers to encounter an error because it does go back to base clock until you reboot. You'll probably find more information Event Viewer

900K PPD, good, bad? Depends on the work unit. For some project's work units, 900K is good.

If you are running 1049x projects 900k would be very good. Also bear in mind that FAHControl can take a while to properly calculate PPD, I use either HFM or the F@H bonus points calculator - feed your frame time into the latter and you should get an accurate calculation of what PPD youl should be getting for a particular project.

currently working on 10490 (79, 0, 989) and 950k ppd. so thats reasonable return for a 1080ti you think?

Also do you have a link for the HFM or bonus points calculator please?

Thanks for the help 8-)

Just install it, then new project, add new client (v7), set it up with localhost and it should work. With Ctrl-H you will see your WU history
