Trying to build cheap folding rig

I have a gtx 1050 Ti, 650 watt power supply, 8 gigs of DDR3 ram 2 4gig sticks, USB keyboard and mouse.

Looking at an Intel G4400 CPU
For the motherboard a ASUS B150M-K D3 LGA1151.

I don't know anything about the board, I'm guessing it will be fine. I'm only wanting to use the Graphics Card for folding and not the CPU. Anyone see a reason why this wouldn't work? Or will it cause any limit to the PPD?

Thank you for your help.

hi and Welcome

That board will be fine, it shouldn't have any issues with a more powerful graphics card later on if you decide to upgrade

Thank you Nathan for getting back to me so quickly. This a third folding rig I'm building from a bunch of spare parts I have laying around. Only needed a CPU and motherboard.

I see that you have a computer with a 1080 and another with a 1050. Are they all folding?

Why don't you combine them?
If the first casing is big enough all three GPU could fit in.

Or reduce it to two computers. One with 1080 and one with 1050 Ti and 1050.

Apart saving money for CPU and mainboard a computer with a lower end GPU is quite inefficient and you could save costs for electricity.
I would assume that a 1050 (Ti) draws around 70W during folding. And the rest of the computer around 50W. Therefore the folding efficiency is unfortunately not very good: 50/70 => 120W
If you would combine both 1050 (Ti) in one computer then it would be 50/140 => 190W which would be better .

Thank you for the suggestion, but I ran into issues with having the 1050ti and 1050 together. Both computers are folding.

The Computer with the 1080 is my gaming rig with custom cooled water loop, so I don't want to add anything else to it.

I tried added the 1050ti to the same mother board as the 1050. Didn't matter which slots the I put the cards in, the 1050ti would never do more than 45k PPD and the 1050 would hit 80k-95K PPD. Pulled the cards out only put the 1050ti in reload the software 125k-149k PPD, the 1050 will hit 100k-118k PPD by itself. I bought the CPU used on Ebay, and got an open box motherboard so I have less than 75 dollars in parts I had to buy. The rest of the parts are left overs from upgrades so they are just laying around. The slight power increase is not a big deal to me. I'd rather have two Cards running at full power than save a little on the power bill.
