Intel Xeon Phi

Post by PositiveRaisin2 »

Does a Xeon Phi coprocessor work with folding@home? If so what performance would you expect? They are cheap on ebay.

You didn't search very hard before posting, there are already many threads about Xeon Phi on the forum.

Here are two examples :
FAH and Xeon Phi compatibility?

Specifically see this post from the second link - viewtopic.php?f=38&t=21842&start=45#p292905. One person who tried out a Xeon Phi 7210 reported on his experience 2+ years ago.

One caveat, CPU projects that would use as many core threads pretty much have finished. Most, if not all, large projects now go to GPU processing.
