GTX 460 in 2020...just for fun

I got ahold of a GTX 460 (and 480, for that matter) and put them up against a 1060 and a 1080.

Quick stats (with some heavy-handed rounding):

GTX 460: 20K PPD, 220 Watts, 90 PPD/Watt
GTX 1060: 300K PPD, 185 Watts, 1600 PPD/Watt

GTX 480: 45K PPD, 310 Watts, 145 PPD/Watt
GTX 1080: 730K PPD, 240 Watts, 3000 PPD/Watt

Note: it wasn't really a clean test since the old 4xxx cards were in an LGA 775 Intel box running Ubuntu and the new 1xxx cards were in my AM3 AMD FX-based system running Windows 10, but the stomping would have existed even if I'd used the same benchmark machine for all cards.

Another interesting side note is that, thanks to the quick return bonus, the newer cards are showing a 15x PPD gain over the older cards, even though the new hardware is only 3-4x faster.

Just thought you folks might like to see how far things have come. Now, I just need to get my hands on a Turing part...

I plugged a GTX 460 into a machine a month back so i could play Fallout New Vegas at a family members house. It still worked and the game too.
