Upgraded GPU, now F@H won't run - Help please!

Post by Harpo »

I swapped to a better gpu, installed drivers, everything works fine - but F@H advanced control doesn't show any gpu. I just get this message:

On client "local" 127.0.1:36330:
Option 'gpu-index' has no default and is not set.
iter should be a GtkTreeIter

No net connections have been changed, and net is working fine.

How do I get this thing back to work?

I would try to uninstall (thoroughly) and reinstall FAH.
You can first make a copy of the file config.xml in %AppData%\FAHClient (assuming you're using Windows) which contains everything you need to reconfigure your account rapidly afterwards.

Thanks, but forgot to mention I have already done a complete uninstall/reinstall with same results.

So when you go into "Configure" and click on the slots tab, what happens when you click "Add" and try to select the GPU?

Usually a full uninstall and reinstall does the trick, but you have already done that. What graphics card did you have before and what do you have now?

Then it looks like the new GPU is not accepted, ie cannot fold. Please post more infos about the configuration.

EDIT: Maybe your card is so new that it's not yet white listed (in GPUs.txt).

In "Configure", I have no longer have a "slots" tab, only "Connection".

The gpu is a GTX 1660 ti, I was formerly running 2 x Firepro W7000.

Update: I did another uninstall/reinstall, and this time it worked. I think it's my fault, though the uninstall on this program is rather cryptic... This time I checked "data" during the uninstall. I had to reenter my name, team, and passkey, but it's sitting ready now!

Thanks to all!

If it's working then great.

By the way, since you're discussing the configuration of the GPU, it would have been nice to include the earlier segment of the log showing what GPUs were, in fact, detected initially. (It's about half a page down from the very top of the log).
