Expiration of proj 13448 is too short for a Radeon R7 M370

Post by takino »

Expiration of Project 13448 is 2.00days,but my Radeon R7 M370(on Thinkpad E560) requires 3.27days for complete this project, even if CPU's folding is all off and set Folding@home Client "full".
For this reason,my computer can NOT complete project, but Folding@home Client get same project,EVERY MANY TIMES.
It's wasteful.
I want to don't assign Project 13448 to Radeon R7 M370,or give more long Expiraion.
Please teach me,what should I do?
*)Now,my Folding@home Client(FAHClient.exe) misrecognize that my GPU is Radeon HD 8600/8700M Series).

Welcome to Folding@Home!

https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/r ... m370.c2695

The good news is that his card meets the minimum prerequisites needed by F@H.
It supports both OpenCL 1.2 and 64 Floating Point math. (Double Precision)

However is is slow, so while it can start, it may not finish. It is about 2/3 the speed of a GT 1030, the slowest card that finishes all Work Units.

Project 13448 are intentionally complex, designed for wide GPUs (NVIDIA GPUSpecies >5; AMD GPUSpecies >=5)
Project 13449 are much simpler, designed for narrow GPUs (NVIDIA GPUSpecies <=5; AMD GPUSpecies <5; Intel GPUSpecies <5)

Those species limitations are supposed to allow everybody to finish the WUs. What is the speed of the PCIe connection?
Those choices probably still need some tuning up.

In theory the card is about the same speed as my 2400G. I'm finishing work units in 20-21 hours with the graphics slightly overclocked. Stock clocks might be lucky to meet the timeout, but should meet the deadline with no issues. It does seem to use a little more graphics memory than some WU's, but not really crazy high or anything.

Do you have any way of checking the clocks and such on the card? That frame time that is showing indicates that the card is running really slow.... much slower than it should IMHO. I would think they should be in the 13-14 minute range at most. Are the frame times consistent when you do let a WU try to keep running?
Fold them if you get them!

However is is slow, so while it can start, it may not finish. It is about 2/3 the speed of a GT 1030, the slowest card that finishes all Work Units.
So no longer the GT 730?
